Community Members volunteering to unite, collaborate, and accelerate social impact.
Immediately after the Baton Rouge shooting of Police Officers on July 17, 2016, two young adults began to discuss the impact on them and how they felt the calling to take action. Over the next week they worked around the clock to put together a Rally to raise money for their local police departments to buy equipment that could potentially save their lives. The rally was a success and the community showed that they really wanted and needed an organization like Acadiana United. It was local, it was new, it was open to ideas and most of all they were willing to do anything that would better the lives of their community.
As of January 21, 2017 Acadiana United became recognized with the State of Louisiana and Federal government as 501(C)(3)! Acadiana United is officially a Non-Profit organization.
